The zebra striped facade of the wacky condo marketing centre designed by Will Alsop Associates became a memorable landmark. It was the view you saw when you stepped out of the newly renovated Drake Hotel.

In 2008 the transit shelter was replaced. This is one of the spots where the new transit shelters really work well.

The streetcar stop at the Parkdale Library still has an old school transit shelter. These simple structures weren’t all that pretty but they fit the streets better than the big glass advertising shrines that come with the plastic Dalek litter receptacles.
